Sarah Anderson

Sarah Beau Faith ANDERSON, of Charlestown, died peacefully at home, Monday, August 14, with family and friends beside her. Loving mother of Myriam Anderson, she was 70 years old. Known for her passion for justice, devotion to friends, and gourmet cooking, Sarah was a Senior Attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services for almost four decades. Her practice focused on health and disability law for low-income people. Long-time board member and board chair of Boston's Health Care for the Homeless. Her legal career included both broad-impact litigation that touched thousands, and, equally important to her, individual case work. A nationally known attorney, she mentored hundreds of young lawyers, law students, and paralegals. Sarah was always willing to take on difficult cases, and she usually won. Sarah's home reflected her many interest and talents-extraordinary meals, beautiful photography, and inviting surroundings. Daughter of Blanche Hagert Anderson and Gunnar H. Anderson, she was raised in Newington CT, spending summers at her beloved Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton CT. A graduate of Newington High School and Tufts University, she received her law degree from Northeastern University. In addition to her daughter Myriam, she is survived by her brother Gunnar H. Anderson MD, and wife Jane Anderson, her niece Rebecca A. King and husband Aaron, her nephew Eric G. Anderson, Esq, and his fiance Christina Ayo, Esq, her great nieces Alice and Martha King, and numerous cousins and friends.

Remember fondly our dining hall chats about the Marlins! Godspeed!

You were so empassioned about women's rights even then!
