Bill was born 23 January 1947 in Newton, MA, son of Leonard and Charlotte Berns Salter.

Bill matriculated with the Class of 1969.  Pursuing a double major and medical degree, he graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in1974.

He was a physician, practicing in Denver, CO.
